With the summer show season just around the corner, we thought it would be a good time to share our 'H/J Horse Show Checklist' with you - to help you get ready and make sure you don't forget anything when you are heading out to compete this summer!

For the Horse

  • Saddle

  • Halter – bring two

  • Lead – bring two at least

  • Show Saddle Pad

  • Schooling Saddle Pad

  • Horse Boots

  • Poultice/Liniment of Choice

  • Standing Wraps

  • Lunge Line

  • Lunging Bridle

Grooming Supplies

  • Brushes – curry comb, hard brush, soft brush, mane and tail comb

  • Hoof Polish

  • Coat Spray

  • Baby Powder

  • Step Stool

  • Fly Spray

  • Safety Pins – to pin numbers on saddle pads

For the Rider

  • Coat Spray – moisturizer or show sheen

  • Fly Spray & Fly Mask

  • Clean Towel – to clean horse

  • Fluff Monkey – multi-purpose sponge

  • Sponge – to clean riders boots

  • Hoof Polish

  • Boot Polish

  • Treats – mints or something small

  • Halter and Lead – should be leather

  • Horse Cooler – depending on weather

  • Horse Boots and/or Polos – depending on hunter or jumper ring

  • Water Bottle
